Liam & The B’s

October 2012

Liam (“Little Man”) was born July 22, 2010. He is officially two-years-old and can recite the alphabet, dance like a pro to all of The Wiggles songs, play basketball and football, play the Wii and play the drums. His favorite food is hot dogs. He loves nothing more than his older brother and John Deere. He grows exponentially and has been in the 95th percentile for height since he was two months old, though he seems to be slowing down (thank goodness!). He is easy going, but super tough — he always gets right back up when he falls down. He is loved by more people that he’ll ever be able to count and he’ll grow up surrounded by opportunities and endless support. If he were to meet you, he’d definitely fist-bump you.

Sports Man is Liam’s adoptive older brother. He is 8-years-old and knows more sports trivia than ESPN. I’m talking team stats, player stats, who’s on what team, who’s getting drafted, who plays what position…he’s an encyclopedia and all around really bright kid. He loves being an older brother and does a great job of teaching Liam all the things little boys should know! I’m excited that I get to watch more than one cool kid grow up. Sports Man has lots of his own fans.

E is Liam’s adoptive father. He is exactly the kind of father to Liam that mine is to me – always loving, always proud, always up for anything, no matter how silly it is. He lives for his family and my heart expands every time I see E with both of his boys. He would do anything for them or anyone else, and that kind of selflessness is one of the many reasons I love E. Not to mention that the boys are practically glued to him, Liam especially. Daddy is a big deal in their house!

J is not just Liam’s adoptive mother, she is the sister I never had. She has become one of my closest friends and I am always just as excited to see her and the rest of the B’s as I am to see Liam. She was so open with me from the day we met to today and I know it will continue for the rest of our lives. Aside from being incredibly intelligent herself (she’s an ER nurse!), she is also ultra creative and has so much talent! Liam’s first birthday party was actually Little Man-themed! But more than anything, she is just as madly in love with my Little Man as I am. She shares motherhood with me effortlessly and I can’t thank her enough for letting me in like she has. We’re going to try to write a book about our unique relationship. Keep an eye out :)
